On April 5th we went LIVE on the BombCast once again with Real Estate Agent Ginny Lee Deptula! Ginny Lee shared with us her ongoing journey of being a digital neighborhood expert through video and marketing. We loved hearing about her video strategy! Watch BombCast Episode 16 below.
Ginny Lee starts off the BombCast by sharing a video excursion that didn’t go quite as planned. This can be a breath of fresh air for all of us out there struggling to create killer videos day in and day out. Head to 13:20 to hear the story of Ginny Lee interviewing the local high school principal.
Here are our top 2 takeaways
Post Natively to Facebook
(17:55 & 22:10)
Multiple times during the BombCast, the topic of posting natively to Facebook came up. Ginny Lee does what a lot of social media marketers suggest, she posts her video NATIVELY to Facebook as well as other social media channels. According to Forbes, Native video gets 10x more shares than YouTube. Though you should be posting your videos to YouTube as well, you should always post your videos natively to Facebook.
At 22:10, Jason brings this topic back up and Ginny gives some more insight. Jason gives us some great stats, saying the average youtube viewer watches a video for 3-4 minutes whereas on Facebook, the average view time is still in the seconds. This is why you should also be pushing out different content over different channels – which brings me to our next takeaway.
Post Different Content to Different Channels
(21:00)
Halfway through the BombCast, Ginny Lee gets into what platforms she likes for videos and what types of video content she likes putting out there. She tells us she loves Instagram Stories as well as Facebook Live. “It’s very interesting to kind of document your day and have people be able to see what you do on a regular basis. Because I think it humanizes you and it makes you more approachable.”
Different social media channels have different purposes. Channels require different sized videos and images. On some channels your captions need to be longer and on others they need to be shorter. You can’t just post the exact same content across all your social media channels for marketing success. Here’s a great article on customizing your content – What to Post on Each Social Media Platform: The Complete Guide to Optimizing Your Social Content
